Housing Authority of Grenada (HAG) will be undertaking a new style of development starting with 1.9 acres of land at Stoney Gut, Gouyave St. John. The project will produce 14 unique turnkey Caribbean homes, with lot sizes varying from 3,000 sq. ft. to 5,000 sq. ft.
For this development, an ESIA will be required that is intended to guide the design stages for both the road and buildings. There is a ravine that runs through the center of the property. Advice on the most appropriate sewer system would be expected to form part of the ESIA.
It is possible that this development may be done in phases as opposed to all at once, meaning that the roads and infrastructure will be constructed and installed before the houses are built. For this development, multiple contractors will be engaged to shorten the construction timeline.
HAG is encouraging draftsmen and architects whether from individuals or companies to submit full concept drawings for these homes. These homes will be in the following categories, 750 sq ft, 900 sq ft, 1,200 sq ft, and 1,500 sq ft. Two-storey homes will also form part of the options available. These homes should have a modern feel and have climate-smart aspects built in.
Ultimately the main sources of electric power will be Grenlec and water will be NAWASA.
HAG is requesting the following:
(1) Project Manager – individual or company – rates per month and yearly.
(2) House design concept showing plan and side views of houses sized 750 sq. ft., 900
sq. ft., 1200 sq. ft. and 1500 sq. ft. Options can be single or double storied but individually owned, car port optional. The lot sizes will vary between 3000 sq. ft. to 5000 sq. ft. Selected drawings will receive a $1,000 payment per design. There is consideration that if in the future this design is used a fee will be paid. The general concept will be modern energy efficient smart homes.
(3) Proposal to conduct an ESIA for the proposed development.
(4) Expressions of interest for:
a) The excavation of the site for earthworks services to construct an access and road network within the development.
b) The excavation of a road 20ft by 650 ft. and to restore the banks of the ravine 300 ft. long.
